Official Information
Airport drop-boxes are the standard USPS drop boxes pre-security outside of the terminals:
- In front of the Commuter Terminal
- In front of Terminal 1 at the “Airport Loop”
- In front of Terminal 2 East near the American Airlines curbside check-in
Nearest Post Office
Horton Plaza has a post office:
It’s in the walkway next to the hotel and across from the Panera; you can head to the Lyceum Theater and walk towards the hotel.
It’s not walkable from the airport (it’s a safe walk, but that is a several hour round trip). You can take the 992 Airport Bus ($2.25 each way) from the terminals to the Broadway and 3rd Street stop; the return bus stop will be either Broadway and 1st or Broadway and 4th. Taking the bus will require at least a three-hour layover to be conservative (closer to four for Saturday due to bus timing).
There is parking available – perhaps a couple of free spots close to the entrance. Metered parking is available nearby but spaces may be limited – bring lots of change ($1.25/hr). The curb in front of the post office is not a good place to park. You can also park in the Horton Plaza parking structure (entrances on 4th St and G St), but be forewarned that parking policies seem to change every other month, and this mall can be a maze even for locals to navigate.
