Hi Folks! It’s been a busy year with two big international vacations and a third in the works. I apologize for not updating sooner, as the technology to generate the pages changed and my provider changed a bunch of servers on me.

I get a number of emails weekly. I get a few updates and additions each month (thank you!), and a ton SEO providers asking if I want to tweak the site (those get ignored). A few people ask for assistance for packages (I can’t help there), and a couple questions about if they can post something from a drop box (generally, only letters and postcards work). I should be a little better at replying to emails asking for genuine assistance.

I’ve had at least one business owner ask if I can install a mailbox at a given location close to an airport.

I have to admit though that this email from earlier this year took the cake:

We visited the (REDACTED) restaurant at (REDACTED) Airport on 14 Aug 2024 at lunch time. Seat selection was up to the guests, and yet the waitor (sic) asked us to move to another table which we did not like. He refused to serve us and threatened to call the police (“the cops”) unless we would move to another table. We have never experienced such misbehaviour and lack of courtesy by a restaurant and their staff. The attitude of the waitor (sic) was totally unacceptable, and management should reprimand him severely for such maltreatment of guests (he did not carry a name tag). We do not recommend this restaurant and rather suggest that anyone would stay away from them at all times.

I admit that I have no idea what the incoming administration for the United States will do regarding the postal service, or even mailbox installations at airports. Everything is probably up for discussion. However, if I need to pivot the site because of a takedown notice or the administration rips out every mailbox at an airport in the USA, there might be something in posting reviews from restaurant airports. For what it’s worth, airportrestaurants.com is available if you want to pay someone almost US$2000.

Changelog

  • Added Kathmandu, San Jose (Costa Rica), St. Croix, and a number of smaller US airports.
  • Philadelphia has lost their mailboxes; Honolulu ripped a number of them out as well (but left one).
  • Rome has been updated because they finally posted maps.
  • Minor cleanup and additions to files.
